Digital assets strengthened this week as US spot Bitcoin ETF inflows reached their highest level since April, signalling renewed investor demand following recent outflows. Wells Fargo, Schroders and Visa expanded their tokenised finance and stablecoin payment infrastructure, while Robinhood secured FCA registration to offer crypto services in the UK.

- Bitcoin recovered from around $63,600 on 4 August to the mid-$64,000s by the end of the week, putting it on course for its first weekly gain in three weeks before trading around $65,000 on 10 August.
- Overall market capitalisation stood at approximately $2.19tn on 11 August, while Bitcoin dominance was around 58.7%, leaving overall market structure broadly stable despite intra-week volatility.
- Strategy disclosed the sale of 1,690 Bitcoin for approximately $108.6m, with proceeds directed toward preferred-share repurchases as the company continued to prioritise liquidity and balance-sheet management over fresh Bitcoin accumulation.
- Macro conditions however continued to be a market constraint as geopolitical uncertainty continued to support higher oil prices, and investors awaited US inflation data for the next signal on the interest-rate outlook.
Bitcoin ETFs record strongest weekly inflows since April
- US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $854m of net inflows over the week, their strongest weekly total since April, with BlackRock’s IBIT accounting for roughly $693m.
- The reversal is notable after the heavy ETF outflows highlighted last week and came while Bitcoin itself remained comparatively range-bound, rather than following a major price breakout.
